There is actually a meltdown on Twitter at the moment as a Twitter user said ‘Olamide is not a fantastic artist’. The social media user whose user name @Bagofnuts_ said the YBNL boss was only successful because the Nigerian music industry was made up of 70% Yoruba.
He went on to say that Olamide should not be in the greatest of all time (GOAT) conversation. @Bagofnuts_ also said because Olamide is an indigenous artist that is the main reason why international recognization he has is very little when compared with ‘the top 3’.
‘Olamide is not a fantastic artist. He thrives on the fact that the music industry is 70% Yoruba. There’s no reason he should be in any GOAT conversation, the top 3 are clear. Exactly why he has little international recognition.’
This tweet has sent fans of Olamide and other music lovers on spiral.

Obviously, that tweet triggered many Nigerians on Twitter and here is their reaction below.
Wonder how anyone thinks “ before Davido and Wizkid took over” is a problem.
Olamide was the king of the street Through First of all, Shakiri bobo, Lagos boys, goons mi era.
Wiz and Davido knocked him off after that period

Olamide didn't make us add "SNEH" to our usernames and dance to shakiti Bobo in the same year for this disrespect

At some point Despacito by Lusi Fonsi and Gangam style by PSY were the biggest songs in the world, funny how they didn’t use English but their native languages and the songs still blew up globally, Mr man, music has no language. Olamide is doing well for himself. https://t.co/ptM2ZHDDST

Olamide has not just blessed us with hits consistently for a decade plus,
The YBNL boss has also given us stars like Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold and Fireboy.
Olamide is not just a music king, he's also a Kingmaker and deserves huge respect.
